Insight & Resources

Children and Young People

With the help of insight experts Press Red, we have analysed the data sets of the Active Lives Children and Young People Survey to gain a clear understanding of attitudes and behaviours towards sport and physical activity.

Two years of data from academic years 17-18 and 18-19 has been combined to provide Humber level analysis. For academic year 19-20 the data is a National level due to a lower sample size.  You can find a powerpoint presentation outlining the head line data below.

In the Humber 46.1% of children and young people meet the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) guidelines of an average of 60+ minutes a day. This is 1.2% above the National average.

For the full National Active Lives Children Survey report please visit the Sport England web pages.  Please note that their is a Coronavirus specific report that you can access here.

Story Map

The mapping tool is an interactive map that you can use to overlay different data sets (for example Indices of multiple deprivation, national child measurement programme, free school meal entitlement) to create a deeper understanding of different groups / demographics and where they live.

Previously we have hosted two Humber wide briefing sessions to share the findings from the Active Lives Children Survey and to present the mapping tool. You can access recordings of these below
