In light of the ongoing situation around the COVID-19 pandemic, Active Humber have taken the difficult decision to postpone or cancel our external events and activities up until the end of June 2020, and school sports events till the end of the academic year 2020. Events taking place after this date will be reviewed closer to the time.
We appreciate that this may be disappointing, however after consultation with staff, our Board, partners, school Heads, PE leads and School Games Organisers we believe it is the most sensible thing to do at this stage.
For School Games, many schools have already contacted us whose Senior Leadership Teams have decided their students and staff cannot host or attend upcoming events, so we believe the timing is correct for us to also act, and will also help take the pressure off schools and organisations as to whether they should attend these events or not.
We will be regularly reviewing the situation and Government advice (click here for the latest advice), and may issue further statements in due course.
