Club Funding

Below you will find an overview of different funding available to support you during Covid-19.

Sporting Structures have published some guidance on applying for funding including how to prepare your committee

Community Emergency Fund, Sport England

Please note this fund will be pausing to applications at midnight Thursday 14th May.

This fund is specifically for sports clubs and community groups delivering sport and physical activity, who have been forced to close at short notice and are facing ongoing costs.  Grants between £300 - £10,000 are being awarded to provide immediate funding for those most in need, covering the period of 1st March to 31st July.  The fund covers retrospective losses from March 1st, including; rent, utility bills, facility and equipment hire and staff costs.

Priority will be given to clubs / organisations who do work in the following areas;

- disadvantaged groups (including rural deprivation)

- women and girls, disabled people, BAME community, lower socio-economic groups

- organisations maintaining an element of self-employed workforce (not covered by other funding.

Tesco Bags for Help COVID-19 Community Fund

A new short-term fund set up to support organisational need as opposed to a specific project. This fund is for community groups and not-for-profit organisations. A single payment of £500 will be made to successful applicants who are working with vulnerable groups. They will fund groups who's services have been disrupted due to coronavirus.

Local Area Specific

East Riding Stronger Together Fund

Support and funding for the voluntary and community sector for now and into the future. The fund is designed to reflect the essential needs of the voluntary and community organisations. Find out more

Sport Specific Funding

There is sport specific funding available through some National governing bodies.  It is expected that you have exhausted both government and Sport England funding stream before applying


Funding is available to tennis venues, coaches, officials and players. Find out more

Rugby Football Union

Emergency loan scheme. Open until April 30th. For ore info or to apply please visit their website. Please note this fund is temporarily closed.


Aimed at helping clubs and organisations get natural and artificial grass pitches ready for ready for when the government advice allows football to start being played again. Find out more


Monies available through the Swimathon Foundation to small organisations delivering swimming / aquatics experiencing short-term financial hardship as a result of Covid-19. More information is available on their website here
