Safeguarding

Active Humber is committed at every level of our organisation, to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment and accepts our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children, young people and adults involved in our work. Here are just a few of our Safeguarding highlights during 2023.

NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Award

This year we are proud to have achieved the highest award of Met during our NSPCC Child Protection Sport Unit review.

Safeguarding Training Delivery

The Active Humber safeguarding team now work with East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VSCE) sector to develop training opportunities within safeguarding.

New Sport Welfare Officer

Active Humber have received funding from Sport England to recruit a new Sport and Welfare Officer to work within the Humber region up until 2027. There are plans to make an appointment ahead of the end of 2023.

Safeguarding Training highlights 

Members of Active Humber staff attended Bystander Training and Trauma Informed Training and In-House Scenario training. throughout the year.

Sharing the importance of Safeguarding

Active Humber have supported both Safeguarding Adults Week and Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week with news articles and social media campaigns to keep this important topic at the forefront.
