Nicola Massingham - Head of Development

I am responsible for the Development Team at Active Humber, ensuring our Active Ageing, Disability and Long-Term Health Conditions, Children and Young People and wider priority groups across the Humber have the opportunity to be physically active. I also work with North and North East Lincolnshire Local Authority, health and VCSE groups advocating the role and importance of physical activity.

Adam Wrightham - Development Manager; Active Aging, Welfare and Safeguarding Lead

I am responsible for developing our sport and physical activity offer for people aged 55+, influencing and supporting agencies to create environments for the least active to have access to opportunities to be active and remain active throughout their lives. I manage the Get out Get Active Programme across the Humber, which is a project aimed at increasing the physical activity levels of people aged between 55-74 living with long term health conditions.

I work across two Active Partnerships; Active Humber and North Yorkshire Sport. My role is supporting the development of the workforce including clubs, coaches and volunteers but predominantly focusing on the development of the non-traditional workforce such as care home workers and social prescribers, seeing how they can bring physical activity into their workplace for the staff and their patients and also working with these partners to refer into our existing programs.

Luke Medcalf - Development Manager; Community and Inequalities

I am the Development Manager for Community and Inequalities at Active Humber. It is my job to recognise inequalities that stop communities from engaging with sport and physical activity. From there, work with those communities to affect change and ultimately make sport and physical activity inclusive for all.

Ian Spencer - Development Manager; Disability & Long Term Health Conditions

I support the development and organisation of physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions across the Humber region. I work with partner organisations and groups to create and deliver more opportunities as well as addressing barriers to participation.

My role is to support sports clubs at a local level with safeguarding and welfare, promoting good practice and safe sport for children, young people, and adults. I am part of a national network who are working closely with national governing bodies in sport.

Abisoye Akerele

I assist the marketing team in the creation and scheduling of social media and website content. As part of my placement from the University of Hull I have conducted a social media audit for Active Humber and developed a social media policy.
