About Active Humber
Active Humber is a charity that helps people of all ages and backgrounds improve their health and well-being by getting active through sport and physical activity.
We are one of 43 Active Partnerships in England and receive funding from Sport England to support their “Uniting the Movement” strategy, which focuses on encouraging more people to get active in their communities.

The Need for Action
In England, 37% of people don’t get enough physical activity to stay healthy. In the Humber region, that number is even higher at 46%, and it rises to more than 50% in our poorest communities.
Our Vision
We want to create a Humber where everyone is physically active every day—for their own health, their communities, and the planet.
This is a big challenge, especially with current low activity levels, and it could take many years to achieve. But we’re determined to work tirelessly, step by step, to make it happen.
Our Goals
To turn our vision into reality, we want to see more people in all four local authority areas of the Humber becoming active each year, especially those who are currently inactive or underrepresented.
To achieve this, we focus on four key areas:
Advocate: Highlight the importance of sport and physical activity to attract more funding and resources for the Humber.
Inactivity: Help inactive people get moving.
Inequality: Make sport and physical activity accessible to everyone, regardless of their background.
Exemplary: Be a trusted, inclusive, and effective organization that works well with others.
How We Work
We collaborate with local councils, health organizations, charities, and businesses to make physical activity opportunities available to everyone in the Humber.
