Pods Development

Active Withernsea Introduces 'Mini Physical Activity Pods' – A Proactive Step Towards Connecting the Community to Physical Activity Resources and Equipment.

Engagement with the Withernsea community and partners identified an opportunity to share resources and create easier access to equipment to enable people to be more active. Active Withernsea proudly presents the innovative concept of 'Mini Physical Activity Pods.' These purposeful spaces within the community are designed to house physical activity equipment that residents and local organisations can loan, encouraging new and diverse ways to be active.

We are thrilled to announce that, following the initial phase of engagement, the first 'Mini Pod' is currently in development, in collaboration with Withernsea High School. This partnership project has brought together a small group of organisations to collectively share resources, enabling easier access to physical activity equipment. The inaugural 'Mini Pod' has entered its first stage of development, with the commencement of on-site activities, including the presence of construction equipment with the construction of the pod now happening, on-site at the school. This marks a significant milestone in the realisation of a shared vision easier access to equipment and opportunities to be active.

Active Withernsea is actively exploring the prospect of additional 'Mini Pods' tailored to the opportunities to be active in various locations in the Town. If you represent a local community group or organisation and wish to contribute to the development of future 'Mini Physical Activity Pods,' we invite you to get involved. Connect with Jen at the Active Withernsea Team via email at jennifer.lount@eastriding.gov.uk or visit us at 170 Queen Street, Withernsea.

We look forward to sharing further updates on the progress of this exciting endeavour and exploring more community opportunities in the near future.
