This is our first event working with the school’s mental health team With Me in Mind who are in every school in North Lincolnshire, the partnership is between us as an Active Partnership, WMiM and the Get Ahead Partnership.
Active Humber have been having conversations for a while about how we best work with students in that transition phase from primary to secondary as we know the jump is huge and if we can prepare students for this it may help settle nerves and they can build new friendships before they approach year 7.
This is our first event of the academic year with a second taking place in spring time, it has been a fantastic opportunity to use physical activity, team building and movement to break down some of the challenges and barriers young people are facing.
Schools then have that ongoing support from WMiM if they want it and from Get Ahead Partnership. This collaboration of partners really showcases the support we can offer young people to support wellbeing and they way they think, feel and connect with physical activity and movement.
