Active Humber have recently worked with Outwood Academy Foxhills in Scunthorpe to introduce year 10 girls to their local leisure facilities.
The students took part in a six week carousel at The Pods including gym, boxercise, wellbeing walks and virtual fitness classes. These sessions have had a positive impact on the girls' attitudes towards physical activity, helping them to now look forward to their PE lessons.
The Girls Carousel sessions are important to show how children and young people think, feel and connect with movement and physical activity. Our Humber wide physical literacy work shows how experiences children and young people have when they are younger can affect how they connect with movement as an adult.
