Opening School Facilities - Havelock Academy

Havelock Academy were supported in Years 2 and 3 of the Opening Schools Facilities funding. The funding was designed to support to schools to open up their facilities for their students and wider community who are the least active. Initially the need was around opening up their swimming pool after covid safely and to run the facilities more cost effective in their upkeep long term. The investment supported a new pool cover, pool chemicals and replacing benches in the changing rooms.

Other investment supported the re-marking of the outdoor courts which has provided the Academy with a higher quality of facilities which has allowed them to bring in more community lettings and enhanced school enrichment. And investment has also supported the repurposing of a classroom into a gym space which has provided a facility they haven't had before and is open for community lettings to use, girls only enrichment sessions and before and after school sessions for staff to support their health and wellbeing.
