Team GB Family Activity Trails

28-07-2023

Looking for an activity to get involved with over the summer? Team GB Family Activity Trails have been set up in Withernsea as a free fun family activity to try in your local area!

Make your family walk more exciting by looking out for the 21 signposts around the whole town. Each signpost is brightly-coloured and features the Team GB mascot, Pride the Lion, so you can’t miss them!

Once you find a signpost, make sure to scan the QR code to unlock a Team GB activity challenge and an Olympic sport badge! There are sport games, fitness challenges, nature activities, scavenger hunts, and brain games to make your local walk more extraordinary. Don’t have a phone? Don’t worry – there are plenty of fun activities written on the signs for you to try out too!

The trails are free, open to all, and can be taken part in whenever you want.

Check out the website, or collect a map from the Active Withernsea shop, Town Council Office, or Leisure Centre to start your trail adventure!

There are 2 ways you can win prizes for taking part:

(1) Complete a short survey once you have taken part in the trails to be added into a prize draw to win Team GB merchandise.

(2) Take part in a study where you try out the trails 3 times and fill out questionnaires. Everyone taking part will received a Team GB backpack bundle.

If you want more information or to get involved in the study, please contact the researcher, Esther Carter: e.carter-2021@hull.ac.uk

Both of these opportunities are open to anyone aged 8+.
