Join the 'Going for Green' Pledge and Make a Difference in Sports Sustainability

As part of the ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability in sports, Active Humber is encouraging everyone to sign up for the 'Going for Green' pledge.

This initiative is a key element of Sport England’s broader sustainability strategy, 'Every Move', aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of sports and fostering eco-friendly practices.

The 'Going for Green' pledge invites individuals and organizations involved in sports to commit to sustainable practices. By signing up, you can take actionable steps to reduce waste, conserve energy, and promote a healthier environment. The pledge is designed to inspire collective action, making a significant impact on our planet’s future.

The urgency of this mission is highlighted by the 'Pedal for Paris' event, where Sport England Chair Chris Boardman is leading an eight-day bike ride from Manchester to Paris.

This journey, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, serves to galvanise the sports sector in its efforts to combat climate change. Chris’s ride exemplifies the commitment needed to drive this change and serves as a call to action for all.
