Activity Alliance’s strategy ‘We All Belong’ addresses barriers faced by disabled people in sports

15-01-2025

Activity Alliance launches a new strategy, ‘We All Belong’ at Lord’s cricket ground to drive meaningful change for disabled people’s lives within sports and activities.

The new strategy addresses the major barriers that disabled children and adults face when trying to be active or work in this sector.

We All Belong has three goals, to make changes, to help disabled people speak up and to work with others to make things fair for those in need.

It’s a powerful collaboration of knowledge, insight and consultation to create an alliance of committed partners to build a movement for change.

Activity Alliance has three ambitions to tackle the important issues within sport that are faced every day.

Their three ambitions are:

1. Sports and activities to meet disabled people's needs - making noticeable change so disabled people can access and feel the benefits of taking part.

2. Disabled people to influence campaigning, policy and decision making – championing disabled people's voices to advocate for change.

3. Address inequalities by working with others - building a powerful collective voice with partners to positively impact disabled people.

These ambitions will address and challenge negative perceptions so that disabled people no longer feel excluded within their communities.
