Active Humber were proud to attend the five-year celebration of the Peel Street Park Project. The event marked a significant milestone and recognised the outstanding impact the project has had, enriching and supporting the local community of Hull, over the past five years.

The project has delivered a wide range of community-led activities and services including bike projects, successful football clubs, food banks, and a variety of wellbeing programmes. Together, these have contributed to a vibrant, supportive and resilient community offer that continues to grow in strength and influence.

The celebration reflected the commitment and hard work of Peel Street directors, Jamal and Salem, whose leadership and dedication have been central to the project’s success. The event was attended by more than 150 local supporters, including the Leader of Hull City Council, corporate partners from across the city, and key community stakeholders.

Active Humber were delighted to present an award as part of the ceremony, recognising our support and continued relationship with the project. The evening was warm, positive and deeply community-focused, with strong local pride and a genuine sense of achievement.

Overall, the event was a tremendous success and a powerful demonstration of what community-led projects can deliver for the city and its residents.
