Sport England celebrates their fourth anniversary of Uniting The Movement

27-01-2025

Today marks Sport England 's fourth anniversary of their Uniting the Movement strategy, with plans to focus on breaking down the barriers that stop people from getting active and to enjoy the benefits of exercise.

The strategy will continue to tackle five main issues and key areas for change, aiming to create a more active and equal nation.

The five main goals are:

1. More funding and support for communities that need it the most.

2. Recognising and celebrating success in sport and physical activity.

3. Adapting to people's changing needs and expectations.

4. Building a diverse group of leaders, volunteers, and professionals.

5. Working together with health, education, and transport sectors.

Sport England will keep working with their 53 local partnerships to collectively reimagine how to keep movement, sport and activity central to the lives of everyone. They are also working alongside partners to work out where expansion is needed next, so this approach continues to grow with pace and impact.
