2023 saw us an organisation stepping up our work on environmental sustainability and our role across the Humber and nationally in tackling climate change.
Internally, we have significantly ‘greened’ what we do by looking at each of our programmes and how we can do that in a more environmentally sustainable way.
Eco-Fest and Oh yes, Net Zero Events
Across the Humber we have been an active supporter of initiatives like Eco Fest and Oh Yes, Net Zero to explain the value and role of physical activity in helping to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Climate Partners across the Region
At the regional level we are joint leads with Sheffield Hallam University on how sports organisations and climate partners across the region can best respond.
National Lead on Climate
Active Humber is the national lead on climate matters for the Active Partnerships Network and this has involved being a member of the Sport Environment Climate Coalition, the DCMS Sport Sustainability working group as well as speaking at numerous national events on how we are making the link at a local level between physical activity and environmental sustainability to get people to act on climate matters.
