Community Ambassador Programme

Active Humber's Community Ambassador programme aims to share the stories of our ambassadors and inspire individuals from all backgrounds to be physically active. We began this programme by sharing individuals stories across our social media channels and newsletter.

We now have 23 ambassadors signed up to the Community Ambassador programme. Each individual are assigned to a member of staff on the Active Humber team to help support them with their individual needs to allow them to get the most out of the opportunity.

Throughout the year of 2024 five of our ambassadors were involved in the taking of our place based photos at the Humber Bridge. These photos are great to allow for a more personal touch on the work we are doing across the Humber and are being shared across our social media channels and within Active Humber branded templates.

One of our community ambassadors also took part in the Bystander Trainer course to allow her to deliver training and raise awareness to other organisations. She also took the opportunity to attend the Yorkshire and Humber Time for Action Event allowing her to have her input on what we need to do to tackle racism across the Humber.

Finally we held a Community Ambassador Christmas catch-up that 12 of our ambassadors attended. This was a great opportunity to thank our ambassadors for supporting our work as well as helping us to shape the programme to have the greatest impact within our community.

Time2Volunteer

We support Time2Volunteer, an online platform that makes it easy to explore volunteering opportunities across Hull and East Riding. The platform offers a wide range of volunteer roles and provides advice and support for those wanting to volunteer or make better use of volunteers. It also helps raise awareness about the key challenges and opportunities related to volunteering in the region.

Time2Volunteer Awards

The Time2Volunteer Awards provide a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and passion to support communities across the Humber Region.

Active Humber sponsored the Active Sports Volunteers Award and sat on the judging panel for the awards. Carolyn Croft of Little Victories FC in Barton won the Award. Little Victories FC is a football club for children aged 4-16 with Cerebral Palsy. Carolyn coaches the children and mentors the young coaches who help with the sessions.
